NSBA Announces Hall of Fame Recipients

The National Snaffle Bit Association has named three inductees into its Hall of Fame. They include professional trainer Leslie Lange, show horse Zippos Ace Of Spades and breeding horse Sweet Talkin Chip.
Leslie Lange
Trainer Leslie Lange established T & L Quarter Horses with her husband Tom in 1989, and the couple has coached AQHA world and All American Quarter Horse Congress champions in Open, Youth and Amateur divisions as well as Rookie Of The Year winners, in addition to their individual success in the show arena.
Leslie became an AQHA judge in 1992, and is a past president and AQHA director for the Rocky Mountain Quarter Horse Association. She was recognized as the AQHA Professional Horsewoman of the Year by AQHA in 2003. A long-time supporter of NSBA, Leslie served as president in 2012 and has served on the Judges Committee and frequent presenter at the Judges Education Seminar. She received NSBA’s prestigious Jack Benson Award in 2015.
Zippos Ace Of Spades
Zippos Ace Of Spades is being inducted into the NSBA Hall Of Fame in the Show Horse category. By Zippo A Ward and out of Nosilksocks (Mr High Socks), Zippos Ace Of Spades earned $33,500 in NSBA winnings before his stellar All Around career. During his show career the 1997 gray gelding would earn 4,521.5 AQHA performance points, seven AQHA world championships and 16 AQHA Superior awards.
With his owner Nicole Barnes, Zippos Ace Of Spades would accomplish AQHA World Show All Around Amateur titles in 2008 and 2006 and reserve All Around Amateur at the 2007 show, in addition to earning world championship titles in Showmanship, Horsemanship and Trail, and AQHA All Around High Point Youth, over the years. Zippos Ace Of Spades was also the AQHA Select World Show All Around Amateur with Francine Barnes.
Sweet Talkin Chip
NSBA’s Hall Of Fame inductee in the Breeding Horse category is AQHA stallion Sweet Talkin Chip. By Hall of Fame sire Zips Chocolate Chip and out of Talkin Sweet (Cassius Torino), Sweet Talkin Chip earned an AQHA Register of Merit and $17,335 in NSBA winnings before becoming a successful sire.
His foals have earned 14,278 AQHA performance points as well as 802 halter points, and 71 AQHA Superior awards, eight AQHA world championships and five reserve world champion titles. Offspring of Sweet Talkin Chip have won $240,525.51 in NSBA earnings. Some of his offspring include Sweet Talkin Jeannie, The Mouse Is Talkin, Zips Simply Sweet, Chipahde Do Dah, Blended Chocolate, Zips Fancy Talk, A Sweet Talkin Lady, One Lucky Chip, Ellies Sweet Chip, Sweet On Occasion, RL Im Talkin Sweet, Sweet Talking Mo, Lets Talk About AOK, Talkin Sweet Impulse and Im Talkn Big.
The 2017 Hall of Fame class will be inducted during the NSBA Awards Banquet on Wednesday, August 16. The banquet is held during the 2017 NSBA World Championship Show and Breeders Championship Futurity in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
