World Champion Sire, Kay Cee Leaguer, Passes at 29
It is with a heavy heart that we report the passing of World Champion and World Champion Sire, Kay Cee Leaguer, at the age of 29. Kay Cee Leaguer was not only a World and Congress Champion in his own right, but sired World and Reserve World Champions, Congress Champions, and Honor Roll Winners.
Sired by Im A Big Leaguer and bred by Paul Galloway of Deanville, Texas, Kay Cee Leaguer quickly showed his talent by claiming the Reserve World Championship in Two Year-Old Western Pleasure in 1989. The next year, he went on to capture the World Championship in Junior Western Pleasure, complete his superior in Western Pleasure, and was the High Point Western Pleasure Stallion of 1990.
He continued his success as a sire, with 229 point earners who have amassed a total of 18,468.5 points across all divisions. His get excelled in the Amateur and Youth ranks, with a combined 559 all-around wins, 13 AQHA Champions, and 52 Performance Superiors, across those two divisions alone. Just a handful of notable offspring include Barmaids KC Legend, Wishfully, Kay Cees Bay Lady, KCees Lethal Weapon, KCS Lethal Weapon To, Lotta Leaguer, MVP Kay Cee, and The Texas Lexus.
“He certainly set the bar high. I used to toss a saddle on and ride him just to remind myself what a real horse should feel like. Up until last year, he still rode like a Bentley,” said current owner, Lisa Heidenreich. “He’s certainly made an impact on my life, and we’ve been so blessed to have owned him.”

I own Big Leaguer Star, the best horse I’ve ever ridden or owned! All my 4-H kids started on Star. He was their teacher. They were the love of his life! I’m so sorry for your loss and pray you have his offspring to comfort you now!
So so glad my daughter was fortunate to obtain one of his get last year. “Captain” has more than proven himself already to have obtained the wonderful attributes of his daddy. Thinking of you guys during this time. Remember the memories… they will keep him alive always in your heart.
So sorry for your loss. I had a Leaguer baby, Dolly Kay Cee, who was with me for 16 1/2 years. I lost her 2 years ago. She was the ultimate mare because she was truly a Leaguer. Now Little Girl can run with her father in horse heaven.

I can say that it is a true honor to have a baby coming any day now by Kay Cee. It was a dream come true. We have decided that the babies reg. name will be Kay Cees Last Leaguer. We have had heavy hearts over this but are joyful to have a baby soon from this wonderful stallion. Prayers to Lisa and Chris.
