First Show Me Equine Summit Set for February 26-28

Looking to learn more about your favorite sport in the middle of winter? The Show Me Equine Summit is just the thing for the winter blues for horse lovers of any age, level and discipline.
Taking place February 26-28 at the National Equestrian Center in Lake St. Louis, Missouri, the event will have professional clinics and demonstrations of numerous riding disciplines, an entertaining colt-starting competition, 4-H and FFA horse judging, riding lesson trials, equine industry alliance roundtable discussion and shopping.
Hosted by the Missouri Quarter Horse Association, the Show Me Equine Summit offers a variety of learning opportunities.
“The Show Me Equine Summit will be a great weekend for the horse people in Missouri to get together, learn and grow our passion,” said Joe Eddy, MQHA president. “It’s going to be a really exciting and fun event.”
Clinics throughout the weekend include cutting, ranch riding, reining, western pleasure, western riding, dressage, trail, barrel racing and hunter/jumper. Clinicians are professional trainers, AQHA world champions renowned in their disciplines.
On Friday afternoon, Dr. John Pipkin, West Texas A&M University equine program director and professor of animal science, will be conducting a clinic for 4-H and FFA members on horse judging. Dr. Pipkin directs West Texas A&M’s equine industry program, where he has coached students to more than 50 national or world champion or reserve champion team or individual titles. It’s perfect timing to prepare for upcoming competitions.
