Wimpys Little Step Earns NRHA $8 Million Sire Status

In less than two short years, Wimpys Little Step has climbed the charts and hit the Six, Seven and now Eight Million Dollar Sire mark with the National Reining Horse Association (NRHA), only the second stallion to achieve this prestigious title alongside Topsail Whiz. Wimpys Little Step with NRHA’s only Five Million Dollar Rider Shawn Flarida had an impressive show record earning more than $185,000 in NRHA Lifetime Earnings (LTE). His breeder of record is Hilldale Farm. In the show pen the duo earned such prominent titles as 2002 All American Quarter Horse Congress Reining Futurity Champion and the ultimate title of – NRHA Futurity Open Champion. Following the NRHA Futurity, then owner Mark Schols retired Wimpys Little Step because of the enormous interest in breeding to the attractive palomino stallion.
The palomino stallion is a 2011 NRHA Hall of Fame Inductee. Wimpys Little Step is by Two Million Dollar Sire and Hall of Fame Inductee Nu Chex To Cash and out of Leolita Step by Forty Seven. Wimpys Little Step is owned by NRHA Corporate Partner Xtra Quarter Horses LLC in Purcell, Oklahoma, where he currently stands.
Wimpys Little Step’s lucrative breeding career began quickly as his first foal crop saw six NRHA Futurity Level 4 finalists including the NRHA Futurity Champion, Wimpys Little Chic. Wimpys Little Chic is the only horse to ever win the top three major reining events consecutively – the NRHA Futurity, NRBC and NRHA Derby. Wimpys Little Chic is NRHA’s All-Time Leading Money Earner. Wimpys Little Step is also the only stallion to sire two money earners with over $300,000, Wimpys Little Chic and RC Fancy Step.
Wimpys Little Step’s top money earners include Wimpys Little Chic with $514,755 LTE; RC Fancy Step, LTE $364,464; Wimpyneedsacocktail, LTE $280,379; Wimpys Little Buddy, $271,078 and CFR Centenario Wimpy, LTE $172,234.
In total, Wimpys Little Step’s progeny have earned $8,068,615.
