PHBA World Show Is a Wrap
The 2015 PHBA World Show concluded on Sunday with great numbers, great competition, and great fun. Exhibitors enjoyed theme days, exhibitors parties, and friendly competition.
Highlights from the nearly three week-long event include:
- Laura Bracken, of Illinois, and Tackyn Sophisticated swept the Amateur Western Pleasure, Junior Western Pleasure, 4 and Over Western Pleasure Maturity, and the Non Pro Western Pleasure Stakes. The team also finished reserve in Amateur Horsemanship.
- Samantha Foster not only came out of the ring a World Champion in Novice Amateur Western Pleasure, but she also received some additional bling for her left hand in the midst of her trophies and ribbons with an engagement in the arena!
- Roxann Guthrie had a very successful first time showing her new horse, Cowboysainteasytoluv “Waylon”, at the World Show by taking home the Select Amateur Golden Horse Award. While Roxann is definitely no stranger to the showpen, this is the first time teamed up with Waylon, and we think it’s safe to say that this is a match made in heaven.
- Both the PHBA Youth World and the PHBA World Championship were full of fun in the midst of the competition. Exhibitors were treated to coffee and donuts in the mornings, an ice cream social, heritage classes, a fish fry, a trainer Calcutta for the Youth, a raffle for a pair of diamond earrings in honor of the 30th Anniversary, and much more.
Lots of thanks to PHBA Amateurs and Sandy Bendele for providing these great photos! For more results and news, visit the official website of the Palomino Horse Breeders of America.
