5 Things to Know About The Lucky 7 Classic
Feeling lucky? The Lucky 7 Classic in Murfreesboro, Tennessee is on the list of favorite shows for many exhibitors and with good reason! The show, which begins May 7th and runs through May 10th at the Tennessee Miller Coliseum, offers great class sizes, competition, and prizes, as well as fun events for exhibitors. Here are are 5 fun things to know about this year’s Lucky 7 Classic.
-
Growth Spurt- The show has grown exponentially in recent years. In just 6 short years, entries have grown by a whopping 214%! It was even one of the few shows that experienced double-digit growth during years when the economy was down. If you’re hunting points, look no further. According to the official site, the Lucky 7 Classic is approaching Top 10 Show status with AQHA in terms of total entries and entries per judge. - Win, Lose, or Draw- For every entry, exhibitors are entered into a raffle to win a Harris Work Saddle sponsored by Sierra Vista Ranch and Nancy Chapman. This is a chance for every exhibitor to have a shot at taking home something big! And who wouldn’t like a new Harris saddle to load into the trailer at the end of the show?
- Food For Thought- Anyone who has spent any time showing knows that it can be hard to squeeze in meals in between classes. Fortunately, the team at the Lucky 7 knows this and will be providing food every day beginning on Wednesday evening with burgers and chips. On Thursday, they will be offering pizza starting at noon, Friday evening will be a Mexican dinner, barbecue on Saturday night, and Mother’s Day Sunday will have treats to satisfy your sweet tooth. Each morning, you can stop by the Hospitality tent to pick up some hot coffee and fresh donuts to get your day started!
- Great Awards– The Lucky 7 always has fabulous prizes up for grabs, and 2015 is no exception! All-around winners can look forward to taking home a stunning bronze by McMillan Trophies, Coco Fiber Rugs will go to reserve all-around winners, various awards, like leather halters and halter bags, for Circuit Winners, and the top 6 under each judge in each class will take home a little something as well. Reserve circuit awards will also be given.

Wow , tons of great pleasure horses on the grounds : California to michigan to Florida ! Tim Kimura hard at work setting the trail pen … This is going to be such a treat for this group of judges – good quality and good numbers! And the awesome southern hospitality is well underway! Best thing in my opinion is the high quality of footing maintenance by the show management .
