Krshka Named NCEA Rider of the Month

Krshka had an outstanding February, riding to a perfect 3-0 mark in reining while also picking up three MOP (Most Outstanding Performer) honors in the event. The senior Cowgirl helped push the Cowgirls to a 3-0 record in February, with all three wins coming over ranked opponents.

Krshka opened the month with a 72-71.5 win over Brynn Critcher in the Cowgirls’ win over No. 9 Kansas State. In a victory over TCU that was decided in raw scores, Krshka defeated Brooke Boyle, 72-70. The Yukon, Okla., native wrapped up her impressive month with a 74-68.5 triumph over Baylor’s Ginger Chant to upset the top-ranked Bears.

In her senior season, Katy Krshka is 14-2 overall with a 7-1 record in both reining and horsemanship. Krshka has also picked up nine MOP honors on the year.

Krshka and the fifth-ranked Cowgirls will wrap up the regular season when they travel to Dallas, Texas, this Sunday, March 8, to face No. 10 SMU at 10 a.m.
