5 Things to Know About… The Aggie Super Circuit

April is right around the corner, and the show season is in full swing in the warmer areas like Texas and the rest of the southern United States.  The Aggie Super Circuit (April 1-5 in College Station, Texas) is one of the most anticipated shows of the year hosted by the Brazos Extension Horse Committee. Read on to learn what makes this show worthy of a Texas-sized turnout.

1. Champion of Champions– The Champion of Champions is a specialized event held in conjunction with the Aggie Super Circuit that spotlights Novice events.  A longstanding tradition in the Lone Star State, the Champion of Champions has evolved into the event it is today from previous years of being an invitational event held at the former Texas Classic in Fort Worth, Texas.  It features a full slate of Novice classes for both Novice Youth and Novice Amateur exhibitors, and is a Texas State Qualifier Show for the 2015 AQHA Level 1 Championships.  Buckles are awarded to class winners with medallions and other prizes awarded through 6th place.
   

   

2. Plenty of Parties– Texans know how to relax and have fun and the Aggie Super Circuit is more than willing to share that hospitality with exhibitors.  With an exhibitor party or event every night during the show, you won’t have to go far to grab some food, chat with old friends, and meet new ones.  See below for the nightly menu:
   • Wednesday- Pizza Party
   • Thursday- Buffalo Wings
   • Friday- “Grab N Go” Food
   • Saturday- TQHA Party Night with Fajita Dinner and Fundraiser
   • Sunday- Easter church service and Easter Egg Hunt
3. Picture Perfect– Up and coming Wavelength Design will be there catching all of your memorable moments.  One of the hottest photographers of the moment, Cody Parmenter has worked with some of the country’s most well-known photographers like Shane Rux.  If the name Wavelength Design sounds familiar, it’s probably because you’ve seen his work before at 2015 shows like the Florida Gold Coast and Gulf Coast Circuits.
4. Fun Awards– If you’re planning on leaving the show with a little hard-earned swag, the Aggie Super Circuit has you covered.  The High Point Open, Amateur, Select, and Youth exhibitors will receive Nettles stirrups.  High Point Novice Youth and Novice Amateur exhibitors will receive saddle covers.  Reserve High Point exhibitors will receive Robinhoods slinkies.  Circuit awards will also be awarded in every class (with the exception of special event classes) with winners taking home a set of monogrammed legwraps.
5. Show Management Extraordinaire– The show management gurus of Mark Harrell Horse Shows will be taking the reins for the 5-day show in College Station.  Whenever Mark and his team are in charge, you can rest assured you’ll be seeing familiar faces and everything will be run like a well-oiled machine.  Have questions?  Check with Mark’s team and they’ll point you in the right direction.  Need a laugh?  Check with Mark’s team, and they’ll make sure you’re having fun.  There’s a reason why they are the go-to people to run a show of any size.  They have it down to an art form.
