A Purchase That’s Paying Off
They had no intention of purchasing at horse at the 2013 AQHA World Championship Show Sale.
That all changed when Kelli and Steven Jensen received a call from their trainer, AQHA Professional Horseman Tom Robertson of Saline, Michigan.
Tom and Bob Lee, a good friend of the Jensens, spotted Paid Benefits as the two horsemen were perusing the sale consignments.
“Tom had seen her previously at a horse show in Ohio and remembered liking her at that time, so he followed up and let me know that she was going through the sale,” Steven recalls. “Tom felt that she will make a great show mare, and Bob looked at her as the perfect broodmare.
“With that, Tom was successful in bidding on the mare for me and brought her home. Needless to say, I am extremely pleased!”
A 2011 buckskin filly, Paid Benefits is by Self Employed and out of Kids Classy Clue by Kids Classic Style. The 3-year-old mare was bred by Darlene Turner of Pilot Point, Texas, and consigned to the 2013 AQHA World Show Sale by R.L. Robinson of Bellefontaine, Ohio.
