Third APHA Hall of Fame Class to be Inducted

Four horses and six horsemen made the top selections as members of the 2014 Hall of Fame class. These outstanding individuals have made significant contributions to the Paint Horse industry in their tenure as members and athletes. They include:

Horsemen:

  • Colin Beals, Arizona
  • William Quention Foster, Oklahoma 
  • Harvey and Linda Jones, California
  • Hardy Oelke, Germany
  • Jim Smoot, Texas

Horses:

  • Cupid Bar #7,118
  • Leo San Man #2,400
  • My Painted Robin #8,212
  • Joechief Bar #3,658
“The heritage of APHA is rich with versatile Paints, outstanding sires and groundbreaking horsemen,” Executive Director Billy Smith said. “It’s an honor to have these industry greats in our history, and we’re proud to recognize their lifetime achievements.”
 
Introduced in 2012, the Hall of Fame and the Selection Committee is carrying on the tradition of commemorating the breed’s colorful history with each class of legendary horses and horsemen. The 2015 Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place February 23, 2015, during the APHA Convention in Fort Worth, Texas. Each inductee will receive an official APHA Hall of Fame Paint Horse statue designed by artist Clay Gant of Cowboy Bronze.
