Friday Sees New Champions Named at the NSBA World Championship Show

TULSA, Okla.- It was an emotional win in the Three Year Old Open Western Pleasure for Angie Rigdon Cannizzaro (pictured at right), of Purcell, Oklahoma in the Ford Truck Arena at the NSBA World Championship Show and Breeders Championship Futurity in Tulsa, Oklahoma on Friday.

She rode Wearin Only Moonlite to the world championship for owner Lauren Love, of Dallas, Texas. “This is just the best horse I’ve ever had the privilege to ride,” she said.

“I’m just so blessed that Lauren Love and her trainer Robin Frid let me ride him.” The bay gelding, by Only In The Moonlite and out of a Potential Investment mare, has had a very successful show career so far, going all the way back to a championship at the All American Quarter Horse Congress Two Year Old Western Pleasure Stakes last year. The pair earned two firsts and two seconds from judges Sissy Anderson, Casey Devitt, Mike Hay and Bill Kaven.

In the Three Year Old Intermediate Open Western Pleasure, Clint Collingsworth, Wheelersburg, Ohio, (pictured at left) showed Invited To Be Lazy to the win for Alana Collingsworth.

“This is a really nice filly,” Collingsworth said. “She was easy to break, and she gave me a great ride today. I think the judges liked how she profiles as well as her movement.”

Candy Parish rode All The Sudden to win the world championship title in the Maturity Intermediate Open Western Pleasure for owners Kate and Brent Bamford, of Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

“We’ve ended up with such a great week here at the NSBA World Show,” said Parish. “I showed ‘Martin’ as part of the world champion group of get of RL Best Of Sudden the other day, and I’ve had just phenomenal rides yesterday and today with him.”
