Y.E.S. Brings Together Future Industry Leaders From Around the Country
The Bank of America Youth Excellence Seminar (Y.E.S.) took place July 7-9 in College Station, Texas and featured future industry leaders eager to enhance leadership skills, learn from inspirational speakers, and experience more fun with like-minded youth, ages 10-18. The event was held in conjunction with the 2014 Youth World Cup, taking place from July 3-13 in nearby Bryan, Texas, where teams from 16 countries will compete for top spots in 10 events.
Various activities members participated in included breakout sessions with Wrangler Xtreme Team Members, an address by Danielle Plourd concerning social media and cyber-bullying, a keynote address by author, Paralympic ski racer, and cancer survivor Josh Sundquist, cultural insights from various 2014 Youth World Cup coaches and managers, and a performance by country singer Templeton Thompson. The goal of Y.E.S. is to help participants develop leadership skills all while having fun and meeting new people.
2014-15 AQHYA officers and directors will be elected by affiliate voting delegates during Y.E.S. as well as up to three directors from each of AQHYA’s 11 regions to represent their respective region.
