Trail and Hunter Special Events Added to Stars N Stripes/Big A Circuit

Conyers, GA– Georgia Quarter Horse Association’s Stars N Stripes/Big A Circuit introduced two new special events as it kicked off the eleven day Stars N Stripes/Big A Circuit in Conyers, GA on Thursday, July 3. Numbers were strong in Thursday’s trail special event with as many as 50 entries in the Senior Trail, 30 in Green Trail, 28 in Junior Trail, and 29 in Youth 14-18 Trail. Under judge Debra Jones Wright, Britney Lofton’s, Lil Bit Western (shown by Chad Evans,) took the top spot in the L3 Senior Trail, with Pleasure Do N Biznus (owned by Mary Goos of Masonville, IA) and Carmen Moss coming out on top in the L2 Senior Trail. Saturday saw another successful special event for hunters take place in the Markel Insurance Arena. The slightly cooler-than-average Georgia weather saw riders compete in various working hunter and equitation over fences classes, with AQHA and NSBA classes running concurrently). Rules Change, shown by David Miller and owned by Carsyn Layne Hodde of Brenham, TX, won the Senior Working Hunter, with DoYou Have TheMagic and Hannah Elizabeth Bedwell claiming first place in Amateur Working Hunter, and Captives and Coke with Rachel Tierney taking the top spot in the Youth Working Hunter.
Additional trail and hunter special events will be held throughout the show, with the NQHL Big A Open and Non-Pro Trail Derbies taking place on July 6th and 10th, and the NQHL Huntfield Derby on July 9th.
