AQHA/APHA Stallion Hes Suddenly Famous Passes Away

hes suddenly famousLosing an animal is every owner’s worst nightmare, and it is never easy when one is suddenly taken. On May 23, Hes Suddenly Famous was involved in a fatal trailer accident. The chestnut stallion was 16 years old when he passed away, and had sired multiple point earners and Western Pleasure and Longe Line Champions. “Famous” was standing in Peterson, IA with Tom Weber Performance Horses. He was by A Sudden Impulse out of Frame My Brick.

“What we liked best was the great minded offspring he produced,” shares owner Rebecca Mauer, who owned Famous’ namesake farm Famous Horse Farm in Iowa.  “He was always glad to see us, and he seemed to remember Barron Knaus when he saw him.” Barron and Famous won a Reserve Championship in Western Pleasure together, one of Famous’ two Reserve Champions. The stallion was previously owned by JR Reichert/Barron Knaus.

Our hearts go out to the Mauer family, and all of those whose lives were touched by Famous. He will be missed by many.

Very sad news. Well bred, beautiful horse that was able to pass on winning abilities to his offspring.
I raised and still own a beautiful 10 year old gelding by He’s Suddenly Famous (out of my Red Sonny Dee mare.) He is a true pleasure to ride. Very smooth, supple and precise in transitions. Soft communication from hands and leg aids. He is at 2nd level in dressage movements and has always been willing and able to understand and apply himself at performing, especially in western pleasure. Hopefully you have a son of this stallion to take his place. Best wishes for moving ahead.
