Save the date for the fifth annual America’s Horse in Art show and sale at the American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame & Museum.

America’s Horse, April 24, 2012 – America’s Horse in Art returns to the American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame & Museum in Amarillo with a list of more than 30 world-renowned Western artists providing pieces for the fifth annual art show and sale. Mark your calendar now, August 11 through November 10, for this great event in the Scharbauer Gallery.

The public is invited to the show’s opening on August 11. Many of the contributing artists will be at the opening ready to discuss their pieces. The opening is 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame & Museum and will feature live music, hors d’œuvres and cocktails.

The signature piece for the 2012 show is a painting by renowned Western artist Mary Ross Buchholz. The piece is titled “He Knows His Job.”

Each piece of art – ranging from pencil drawings to sculptures – will be available for purchase on opening night. All remaining pieces will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis, beginning at 8 a.m. CDT on August 13.

Art sales will be available online, by telephone at (806) 376-5181 and by e-mail at [email protected], beginning at 8 a.m. CDT on August 13. The purchased artwork will remain on exhibit through November 10.

Proceeds from the sale of the art will go to the Hall of Fame to support its efforts to preserve the history of the American Quarter Horse.
