2011 World Championship Show Sale Results – Positive Trend Continues
The 2011 World Championship Show Sale, held Friday November 18, showed the “positive trend continuing,” according to Tim Jennings of Professional Auction Services, Inc. “It still very much comes down to the individual, but we see the market on the verge of a turnaround. Talking to those who buy and sell for a living, they were all shaking their heads about how good it was.”
The top seller of the day brought $65,000. Hip #30 – Blazingly Classic, a 2010 Bay Filly by Blazing Hot and out of Certainly A Classic. The average price at the sale was $5,848 and 82% of horses sold. More depth in the buying pool and a more limited supply were two of the factors impacting success in the sale. Buyers at the sale came from all over the United States and internationally. Jennings commented, “Presentation is a big part of it too. The two top sellers were very well prepared in presentation for the sale and pretty broke to go around. That helps a lot.”
