Machine Made Tears Up the Show Circuit
A new video has been released of upstart stallion Machine Made’s World Championship go at the NSBA World Show, Tulsa, Oklahoma, in Junior Western Riding. Click here to take a look! Congratulations to Gil Gilyean and Machine Made on this win!
Machine Made has been taking home a number of wins during this show season! Sired by the late great A Good Machine, and out of the accomplished show mare Gypsys Little Image, this beautiful 2007 bay stallion is making a name for himself across the board. Owned by Dr. Candice Hall and Dr. Cory Seebach of Black Creek, Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Machine Made took home the Reserve Champion Open Western Pleasure, ridden by Gil Galyean, and the Reserve NonPro Maturity Western Pleasure, ridden by owner Dr. Candice Hall, at the 2011 Tom Powers Futurity. Only second behind the legendary A Certain Vino.
At this year’s Southern Belle Invitation, “Hershel,” as he’s known around the barn, and Gil Galyean teamed up to take the 2011 Southern Belle Green Western Riding Futurity Championship, Reserve Open Maturity Championship, and Breeders Maturity Reserve Championship.
At the NSBA World Show, Gil piloted the team to a World Championship in Junior Western Riding, which was also Hershel’s first time shown one-handed in a bridle!
And, at the Reichert Celebration, with Dr. Candice Hall in the saddle, Machine Made took Reserve Open $2500 Rider Western Pleasure Champion and Reserve Champion 3/4 yr old Western Riding with Galyean. “The western riding is a very new event for Machine Made, but he really enjoys it!” commented Dr. Hall.
Machine Made will be very busy at the All American Quarter Horse Congress in October, showing in Junior and Amateur Western Pleasure, Open and Non Pro Maturity, and Green and Junior Western Riding. Following that, the AQHA World Show will have him showing in Amateur Western Pleasure, ridden by Candice Hall as well as Junior Western Pleasure and Junior Western Riding with Gil Galyean.
Candice and Cory love watching Machine Made in the show ring. “Our favorite thing about watching him show is watching his legs. He lopes clean and true, with a deep hock and flat front leg.” Keep an eye out for this impressive show horse!
On a breeding note, Hershel and his owners are anxiously awaiting his first foal crop. Candice told PleasureHorse.com, “He had the good fortune to breed some amazing mares such as Dark Jasmine and Were Talkin Radical. We are hoping he puts his great mind, gorgeous head, and soft flowing movement on all of his babies!”
When we asked what he’s like back at home..Candice had this to say, “He is a real sweetheart behind the scenes, quiet and a gentleman. Everyone who spends time with him loves him. Our lives have changed FOREVER by knowing this horse! He is one of those once in a lifetime animals that you search for and hope to have the pleasure of owning. THANK YOU to Henry and Donna Rosciti of Rosciti Quarter Horses for allowing Machine Made to be part of our family.”
Watch for Machine Made at the Congress and World Show this fall!
Great job Hershel and Gil! Congratulations.
