Dave Archer Does it AGAIN!!
Dave Archer and Touched N Moonlite, took home their second big win at the Reichert Celebration with the Championship in the Signature Equine Chronicle Color Classic 2YO Western Pleasure class! He walked away Friday night with nearly $50,000 in first place winnings and incentives – class purse of over $15,000, $25,000 in Reichert Sale Stake and an additional $5,000 for having ridden in his eight year old Harris saddle!
Purchased at last year’s Reichert Sale, “Regis” inspired the Archers by just walking into the sale ring. Wilburn and Joyce Archer of Indian River, Ontario didn’t intend to buy anything. They just decided to take a chance on him. And, boy did that pay off! In fact, Archer walked out of the Will Rogers Coliseum last night and sold the gelding for an undisclosed sum of “not quite $150,000.”
What’s next for Dave? He’s purchased Regis’s full sister from Gumz Farms. With Only A Touch (“Kathie Lee”), also by Only In The Moonlite and out of One Tuff Touch, will arrive later this month. He hopes she will follow in the footsteps of her brother, and plans to show her in the same disciplines.
